His Father Late Pandit Mahadeb Mahapatra was a sanskrit teacher who always inspired his son to be a teacher. He has completed his primary and secondary educations in the village school and became a Graduate from Nayagarh Autonomous College, Nayagarh, and M.Phil. Degree from Merut University. Then the joined as a Political Science Lecture in Sarankul College and later he served as Principal of the said College for a period of more than 8 years. After then he has worked as H.O.D. of Political Science in Ranpur College and Nayagarh Autonomous College where he retired as H.O.D.<br>Soon after the retirement, he served as Principal in Xavier High School, Kantabanji, and E.M.R.S.
