Prof. Umesh Chandra Mahapatra was born on 1st April 1950 in a remote village named as Binayakpur Sasan in a middle class family in the state of Odisha in the Present District of Nayagarh. His Father Late Pandit Mahadeb Mahapatra was a sanskrit teacher who always inspired his son to be a teacher. He has completed his primary and secondary educations in the village school and became a Graduate from Nayagarh Autonomous College, Nayagarh, and M.Phil. Degree from Merut University. Then the joined as a Political Science Lecture in Sarankul College and later he served as Principal of the said College for a period of more than 8 years. After then he has worked as H.O.D. of Political Science in Ranpur College and Nayagarh Autonomous College where he retired as H.O.D.
Soon after the retirement, he served as Principal in Xavier High School, Kantabanji, and E.M.R.S. Malkangiri, for a period of more than 5 years.
The English Poets are the inspiration of Sri Mahapatra to write English poetries.
All these poems written by him within a short time and are psychological study in its accept, no person are linked with all these poems.
